Story
Manuel decided to migrated to Germany in 1965 when he was 19 years old because he needed money and in Galicia the salaries were low. In Remagen, Germany he worked in a fur factory, in a furniture factory and in a plastic factory . Years later, my grandmather also migrated Germany for staied with my grandfather. In 1973 my mother was born and two years later (in 1975) they return to Galicia and now, he is living in Valiña, Lañas, near Negreira with my grandmather and my great-grandmother.

Story
My mother was born in Huila-Colombia, with 18 years she moved to Bogotá (it is the capital) to study, with 21 years she went to Madrid-Spain and there she finished her studies. This trip was international and voluntary, even though it hurt to leave his family in Colombia.In Madrid, she worked as a cashier at a gas station at night, and in the morning she went to university.When she was 25 years old, she moved to Barcelona, ​​Spain, to work, she stayed there for 12 years and when she was 37 she moved to Galicia (Bertamiráns) -Spain, for work and family reasons, she is currently 37 years old and still lives in Galicia.

Story
José moved to Zürich when he was 9 years. He moved to Zürich by train and the journey took about one day. His parents were working in a hotel.
José started to go to a public school. He remembered that in PE was the first time that he saw a lot of football balls. He learned Züridütschan and German. José speak a beat of Italian too. He said there was one teacher who speaks Spanish and helped him with the language. In Switzerland children don´t start reading before 7 years.
He told us that people in this city were very polite with migrants.
There were differences between the migrants and the native people Straße of Zürich

When he was a child he was amazing because there were a lot of cars, especially Mercedes
He lived in an apartment with his two siblings and with his dad and mum. He did karate and he showed us a certificate of his lessons.
José at the age of ten was always riding to the train station. There he only saw Galician people and he was surprised about it. He recalled that all of these migrants had a sticker on their jackets which indicates the factory that they were going to work.
When he was sixteen years old he decided to become a mechanic. Also he had experience with electrician and carpenter. He studied mechanical for four years and then he did so many courses.
He worked in a petrol station, in the Volkswagen factory but at the age of 29 he owned an auto repair shop.
Later he moved to Galicia to bring some cars for here. He came 1 week here and another week in his garage.
One day he had an accident when he was bringing cars to Bertamiráns so he make a house in this place to start here a new life.
Nowadays he goes to Zürich to visit some friends and he knows about his garage. He knows that was closed short time but now is reopened.
He felt happy to have lived in Switzerland and showed us his grateful to the Swiss people for his kidness.

Story
Laura Barreiro studied nursing at the University Santiago de Compostela.
She lived in Galicia and she worked in the Clinic Hospital of Santiago de Compostela, but she always had the idea of travelling.
She found a job offer in facebook. She sent her curriculum vitae and they called her for an interview in Valencia. She went to Valencia and they offered her the job, which is in Mansfield. When she moved to Mansfield, she had to start working as an auxiliary nurse.
The first few months they gave her and her companions a house until they found lodgings.
She travelled with other Spanish nurses and now they all live together.
She says that the work is very different and was difficult for her to adapt, since they work differently when dealing with staff.
The language also difficult for her at first because although she knew English, the natives had a very strong accent, but now she understands it perfectly.
She spends her free time travelling, and in Christmas Holidays, she sometimes comes to visit us.

Story
Esther is my mother and she emigrated from her town called Granollers (Barcelona) to Ames twenty six years ago, for a sentimental reason.
She met my father during a vacation in Galicia. Later my father moved to Barcelona, where they worked and lived for two years and finally they decided to build a house in the countryside, concretely in Ames, because my father is from here and they moved to live in Galicia.
Soon she got a job in Santiago de Compostela. She was also a pendulum migrant because she moved every day from Ames to Santiago de Compostela to work and then she went back home.
Currently we are four members in the family: my father, my mother, my sister who is nineteen years old and I. We continue living in Ames.
