Story
Gerardo Abad emigrated to Argentina in 1936 at age 27, leaving his family in Galicia. First he traveled to the port of Vigo to catch the boat that would take him to Argentina. The transfer of Vigo to Argentina by boat took about a month and upon arrival in the country was located in the capital, Buenos Aires. He had emigrated for economic reasons, but also for political reasons since that year belonged to the decades where the second Spanish republic ruled. Since he had emigrated mainly for economic reasons, he decided to dedicate his life to a catering company, setting up several bakeries and pastry shops. In an occasion where Gerardo was well economically after spending several years in Argentina, he helped his little sister Concepcion to emigrate to Argentina so that she could also improve her economic situation. My great-grandfather gave Concepcion the opportunity to work in her business, although later she decided to return to Galicia, Brión, since she was in a delicate health situation and preferred to be with her family in Spain. Years later she moved to Lugo with the nieces who took care of her and fortunately I was lucky to have the chance to meet her at three years old, before she left to live in Lugo, this time I was able to take some pictures with her and Concepcion told him about his experiences in Buenos Aires, Argentina to my mother who can tell me now that I am older. Unfortunately my great-grandfather Gerardo could only travel to Spain sporadically to see his family on a few occasions and since he died in 1983 I could not meet him, but his son Ramón Gerardo, my grandfather, from whom I could enjoy some years, contrary to my great-grandfather who did not even know him.

Historia
