Story
Ramón grew up in Bastavales and his first job was in Vilagarcía as a serigraphist in a canning factory in 1963. In May 1966 he requested some vacations at the company to go with his cousin to visit his uncle who lived in Amsterdam, Holland. In the beginning it went with a tourist purpose but in a short time it found a good job with an unbeatable conditions in a blast furnace factory in Beverwÿk next to a canal. He decided to stay and bring his wife with him and she would work in his same company. They had 2 children and after a few years his wife fell ill and returned to Galicia with his children where he died in 1982. Ramón asked for a year's leave of absence in the company to organize your family life. He left his mother-in-law to his two sons here in Galicia and he returned back to Holland. For a time he lived on a ship of World War II (similar to the Titanic according to him) that the company owned as it was located next to a canal. On the boat they housed some of their employees. Later he moved to a flat in the city of Beverwÿk and there he spent the rest of his life in Holland. His mother-in-law died and he returned in 2000 to take care of his children. He currently lives in Trasmonte, Ames with his daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren
