Carnero is a spanish and a galician surname. In Galicia the surname has some origins in La Coruña, Ferrol, Lugo, and Orense. It is one of the oldest surnames of Spain. We can say this basing us on some dates.
Some people said that the surname comes from the word ''carne'', which comes from the word ''carnarius'' in latin.

Meaning of the coat of arms
It is divided in two red parts diagonally and there are separated by a white tape. In the tape are three blue lis flowers representing three lilies. In the red parts are two rams whites.

Meaning of the surname
Patiño proviene del nombre de un castillo gallego llamado Patiñorbe situado entre los ríos Miño y Duero. Vivieron en él nobles desde el siglo VI, y en 1713, Felipe V nombra a Baltasar Saavedra primer Duque de Patiño. De ahí el apellido.
